Some time ago my LinkedIn account was hacked and I lost access to it. I had had
that account for about 20 years, using it as a sort of Rolodex.

I let LinkedIn know about the incident, and their answer was that, in order to
restore my account, I needed to provide either my social security number, or
a notarized statement to prove my identity.

That was my last social media account.
